A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after colliding with a car during a police pursuit.

West Yorkshire Police said the bike crashed with a red Vauxhall Corsa in Harrogate Road, Bradford, at about 13:19 GMT.

The force said the motorcycle was being followed after failing to stop for officers earlier.

A second male who was also on the motorbike was seriously injured in the collision. No other injuries were reported.

A series of road closures have been put in place while an investigation into the crash takes place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information about what happened is asked to contact police.
