Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead inside a home in Mansfield Woodhouse.
Nottinghamshire Police said it was called to the address in Newhaven Avenue at about 18:20 BST on Sunday after paramedics discovered the body.
It is thought that the man, in his 50s, had been injured the day before following a disturbance in the street, at about 22:30.
Detectives want to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the altercation - in the Newhaven Avenue and Newcastle Street area - as they seek to establish the circumstances around the man's death.
Det Insp Clare Gibson added: "If you have any recorded CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage which could help us with our investigation then please contact police.
"We understand what happened is likely to have caused concern locally, however we believe this to have been an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public."
