A burglar who committed two-break-ins within days of being released from prison has been jailed for six years.
Kevin Wall, 35, of no fixed address, targeted homes in Northstowe, Cambridgeshire, on 12 July, just five days after he was released on licence from a previous sentence.
Wall smashed doors to enter the properties on Parr Close and Heron Road and Cambridgeshire Police found his blood at both scenes.
At Peterborough Crown Court on Friday, Wall admitted two counts of burglary and was jailed for six years.
'Audacious'
On Parr Close, Wall smashed rear doors using a garden shovel and stole car keys, jewellery and cash.
Nearby, on Heron Road, he broke garden patio doors and stole a handbag, cash, jewellery and clothing.
CCTV later showed him wearing a stolen blazer, child's cap and handbag - while stuffing further stolen items into his pockets, police said.
He was arrested in London on 15 July..
Det Con Louise Clarke said: "To commit two burglaries so soon after being released from prison is not only audacious but deeply distressing for those affected.
"Thanks to forensic evidence and CCTV, we were able to identify and arrest Wall.
"We hope this sentence brings some reassurance to those affected."
