Teen slashed repeatedly in gang attack

A teenage boy suffered repeated slash wounds in a gang attack in a busy area of Liverpool city centre.
The 17-year-old was targeted by a group of "men or youths" on Williamson Street at about 18:40 GMT on Monday, police said.
The victim then walked to Whitechapel where he was treated by paramedics.
Merseyside Police said he is was a stable condition after being taken to hospital.
Ch Insp Andy Hughes urged anyone with information to come forward and said "the smallest detail could prove vital".
"This was a serious assault which could easily have led to even more serious consequences for the victim, who is thankfully recovering in hospital," he said.
"Knife crime has no place on the streets of Merseyside and we will continue to do everything in our powers to combat it."
