Views sought on GP surgery closure proposal

Views are sought on plans to permanently close a GP surgery.

The NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) said Hawthorn Medical Practice on William Way, Wainfleet, was temporarily closed in 2020.

The practice currently provide all GP services from its main site in Skegness and branch site in Burgh-le-Marsh.

The ICB wants to hear from patients about their experiences about accessing GP services since the facility in Wainfleet closed.

Sarah-Jane Mills, from the ICB, said: “Feedback is crucial in helping us make an informed decision and to shape the ongoing development of GP services that best serves the needs of the local community.”

A consultation is taking place until 21 October, which can be accessed via an online, external survey, external, or paper copies can be picked up from Hawthorn Medical Practice.

The ICB will also be holding two events to answer any questions.

The first session will be held on Tuesday 24 September, from 14:00 to 15:30 BST, in the function room at Skegness Rugby Union Football Club.

Another will be held on Wednesday 25 September, from 10:00 to 11:30 BST, at Wainfleet Methodist Chapel & Community Centre.
