A man has suffered what could turn out to be life-changing injuries in what police believe was an attack, carried out by two other men.

Emergency services were called to Church Street, Stoke-on-Trent at 06:00 BST on Sunday after reports that there was a seriously hurt man on the street, Staffordshire Police said..

The victim is said to be in a stable condition in hospital and officers are trying to identify his suspected attackers, who left the scene.

A spokesperson said CCTV footage showed there were a number of pedestrians and cars in the area at the time and they were urging witnesses to get in touch.
