Wallace & Gromit sculptures assemble for grand show

All 53 sculptures were placed around Bristol in a trail over the summer

A display of more than 50 sculptures of Wallace & Gromit characters will open to the public on Saturday.
The 53 giant versions of Aardman characters Wallace, Gromit and Feathers McGraw have been gathered outside the Mall at Cribbs Causeway, on the edge of Bristol, for two weeks before they go up for auction.
They were placed all across Bristol as part of a summer trail to raise money for the Grand Appeal, which supports Bristol Children's Hospital by funding research, helping families and paying for life-saving equipment.
Over the years the trails have raised more than £20m for The Grand Appeal, thanks to auction sales and donations.

Alongside the large sculptures will be 100 Norbots - the smart gnome from Vengeance Most Fowl - painted by local pupils.

Nicola Masters, director of the Grand Appeal, said people have come "from all over the world" to take on the trail.

She said: "Sometimes in the world it feels there's not much to celebrate and we hope the warmth, humour and charm of Gromit Unleashed, and the Wallace and Gromit sculptures, will bring something to the community."
"But also help us raise the vital funds we need for Bristol Children's Hospital's neo-natal intensive care unit through the Grand Appeal."
She added the display is the "one and only chance" to see the 53 sculptures together before they are sold at auction later this month.
