Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club is hoping to build a three-storey car park in the grounds of its stadium in Falmer.
The plans for the new facility at the Amex Stadium will be discussed at a Brighton & Hove City Council planning meeting due to take place on Wednesday.
The application, submitted by Community Stadium Limited, proposes building a three-storey car park with 43 spaces for employees and directors, reported the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).
The structure would also include a footbridge link to the stadium's west stand and a stairway and lift to allow access to the footbridge.
The new car park would have Brighton & Hove Albion's logo, a silver facade and a live green wall to the south west.
More than 400 car parking spaces have been lost on the Bennett's Field, next to the stadium, after Lewes District Council approved a plan to build housing for 555 students.
The field is for the use of University of Sussex and University of Brighton.
In light of this, the football club's planning agent DMH Stallard wrote in the planning application the loss of the Bennett's Field site had "caused significant issues" for the stadium on matchdays.
"The majority of the applicant's matchday and non-matchday parking is leased from surrounding landholders, which puts this parking at threat in the future should those landholders not agree lease renewals," they added.
"The likelihood of spaces being lost continues to rise, given the increasing demand for brownfield space within urban areas."
