Parents charged after baby's death in car crash

A mother and father have been charged in connection with a car crash that killed their baby.
Seven-month-old Emanuela Sakyi died following a head-on collision that happened two years ago in Milton Keynes.
Emmanuel Sakyi, 29, of Garraways in Milton Keynes, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while over the alcohol limit.
Ruth Oppong, 32, from Warwick Road in Coventry, has been charged with aiding and abetting causing death by dangerous driving and causing the unnecessary suffering or injury of a child.
Thames Valley Police said Mr Sakyi had already been charged with driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit and failing to stop after a road accident.
The collision took place on Sunday 4 December 2022 on a stretch of the H10 at Bletcham Way, between the Denbigh roundabout and Fenny Lock.
A grey Peugeot 508 was involved in a head-on collision with a green Fiat 500.
Police said: "Tragically, as a result of the collision, seven-month-old Emanuela Sakyi died from injuries sustained."
Mr Sakyi and Ms Oppong will appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
