An investigation into the fire is under way, police said

Cannabis plants were discovered by police after a fire broke out at a house in Wigston.

Officers were called to reports of a blaze in Aylestone Lane shortly before 17:50 GMT on Tuesday.

No-one was injured in the fire, and no-one was inside the property, Leicestershire Police said.

The plants were recovered and an investigation is under way, police added.

Anyone with information has been urged to get in touch with the force.
