Firefighters have been dealing with a lightning strike on a chimney pot in Guernsey.

The only damage was to the chimney on the house in St Clair Hill, said the fire service.

A number of neighbours had their electrics blown out due to the strike but there were no reports of injuries, it said.

The road was closed for firefighters to survey the roof, but it has now reopened.
