A man has been jailed for four years and eight months after deliberately driving into two pedestrians, leaving one with life-changing injuries.
Braden Lynam, of Woodborough Close in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, was sentenced on 29 August after previously pleading guilty at Winchester Crown Court in April.
On March 27, Lynam, 22, was in Salisbury when he got into a fight with a man in his 40s. A woman tried to break up the fight, but Lynam then got into a car and drove at high speed towards them in retaliation.
Investigating officer Det Con Louise Butler from Wiltshire Police said: "He could easily have taken two lives."
"Lynam's actions were horrendous and have resulted in one of the victims suffering life-changing leg injuries," she added.
Lynam did not stop, leaving his victims injured at the side of the road, and continued driving into Churchfields Road where he abandoned his vehicle and evaded police until he was arrested on 31 March.
He pleaded guilty to GBH with intent, actual bodily harm and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been disqualified from driving for five years as well as jailed.
"There is no place for this sort of violence in our county and I'm pleased he has now been jailed," added DC Butler.
