Teen arrested after stabbing in residential street

Police investigating a stabbing in Leicester have arrested a 17-year-old boy.

Officers were called to Cambridge Street, off Narborough Road, at about 12:30 BST on Wednesday.

A 26-year-old man was found and taken to hospital with an injury the force said was "not life-threatening or life-changing".

The suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, remains in custody.

Leicestershire Police said officers from its central Leicester neighbourhood policing area (NPA) were carrying out further "reassurance patrols" in the area on Thursday.

Inquiries are ongoing and detectives are asking anyone with footage or information to come forward.
