A man has died in hospital after police negotiators attended a domestic incident in Leeds.
West Yorkshire Police were called to Half Mile Green in Stanningley at about 12:35 BST on Sunday.
Officers saw a man with what appeared to be a handgun and withdrew for armed police and negotiators to come in.
At around 22:50 BST, armed officers forced entry to the address and found the man critically injured. He was taken for emergency treatment but died in hospital.
West Yorkshire Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and a mandatory independent investigation has begun.
