A 15-year-old boy has been charged with committing a racially aggravated common assault early last year.

Cumbria Police said the charge relates to an attack on a boy in Carlisle on 15 March 2024.

The Crown Prosecution Service is also considering bringing a case against three other boys arrested in connection with the same crime, the force said.

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Carlisle Youth Court on Friday.
