Leicestershire Police said a man - who was believed to have been stabbed in Bishop Street - was found injured in Granby Street at about 22:40 BST on Friday.

On Monday, the force said a 23-year-old man and a woman, 20, detained over the attack, were released on bail as inquiries continue.

The injured man remains in hospital in a stable condition, police added.

Officers said the street was busy at the time and witnesses have been urged to come forward.
