A pedestrian who died after a collision with a motorcycle on a major bridge has been described as "a real superhero".

Police were called to the incident on the Itchen Bridge, in Southampton, at about 19:15 BST on 25 September.

Lee Michael Anderson aged 51 and from the city, was rushed to hospital but died four days later.

In a tribute, his family said he was an organ donor and that "many people are now alive because of his loving kindness".

"Lee was a loving brother and unique person, who was taken from us far too soon," the statement read.

"He would always put others before himself and really liked to help out, especially within the community where he lived."

A 31-year-old man, who had been riding the motorcycle, and is also from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been released on police bail until 22 December.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it was continuing to investigate the incident.
