Man seriously injured in 'assault near city cinema'
Police appealed for witnesses after the attack in the early hours of Saturday

A man has been seriously injured after being attacked near a cinema, police said.
The victim, in his 20s, sustained injuries to his chest and abdomen during an assault in Colchester at about 02:00 GMT.
Essex Police said it happened in Head Street, which would have been busy at the time, close to the Walkabout bar and the Odeon cinema.
Appealing for witnesses, Det Insp Tim Coyles said: "This assault took place in the city centre in a busy part of town — we are confident others may have seen this assault or the moments before and after."
