Police investigating the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy have urged people not to share a video believed to show the build-up to the incident

The plea comes after the footage circulated online after the attack at about 16:30 BST on Monday on Moston Street in Moss Side, Manchester.

Another 15-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody after the stabbing.

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman said the footage could have an impact on both "the victim's family, and any future prosecution".

Police and paramedics were first called to the area after reports of a disturbance involving "a number of people", and found the teenager with stab wounds.

Police are continuing to question the 15-year-old suspect, while officers remain in the area by Moss Lane East and Monton Street.

"We know just how shocking this incident has been for the whole community," said Det Chief Insp Mark Davis.

"Additional officers are in the area as part of our wider response and they will be able to assist with any queries you may have.

Anybody with information or relevant CCTV footage to contact the police directly.
