Natural world sculpture and art festival for Easter

A sculpture and art festival focusing on human creativity will take place over the Easter weekend.

The annual Easter Sculpture and Arts Festival at the University of Bristol Botanic Garden, will take place from Good Friday to Easter Monday.

It will feature work from more than 30 local artists working with materials such as stone, ceramic, wood, metal and wire.

Nick Wray, Curator of the Botanic Garden, said: “The festival aims to showcase the harmony between art and nature with unique hand crafted sculptures, interactive workshops and family-friendly activities."

Work by artists Margaret Crump, Jo Whiteland and photographer Daniel Callejo Ross will be on display.

Art students from the University of West England (UWE) in Bristol will also exhibit their work, including ceramic slugs and a prehistoric creature.

Visitors to the event can also enjoy demonstrations of, and take part in, willow weaving, wood turning, pottery and stone carving.

Entry to the event for adults is £10 with gift aid, £11 without, £5 for University staff and retired staff and free to Alumni, friends of the garden, students, children under 18 and carers of visitors.
