Investigations are continuing after a fire broke out at a city industrial estate.

Black smoke was seen rising from Liners Industrial Estate in Southampton shortly before 16:00 BST on Thursday.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said three units in a row of five at the rear of Paynes Road had been impacted, and police warned people to stay away from the area because of "potential asbestos" in the smoke.

The service deployed 10 fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms before the blaze was brought under control late on Thursday. It said crews still at the scene were there to monitor and dampen down any remaining hotspots.

A police car is parked across Paynes Road, blocking traffic.
