People are being encouraged to dress up as Christmas elves this weekend in an attempt to break a world record.
The event has become a fixture for Weymouth ahead of their Christmas light switch on.
Elf attire in the form of ears, hats and collars are encouraged to help the seaside town officially claim the title of elf capital of the UK.
Locals and visitors are welcome to join the entourage of Santa's little helpers on Saturday to try and beat the current record of 1762.
It is being hosted by Weymouth's business community this Saturday with an elf-registration and elf-count.
Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, the Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth, said they can't wait to see the streets filled with elves.
"The record attempt is a wonderfully quirky way to bring everyone together, celebrate the season, and showcase the charm of our town.
"It might sound a bit bonkers - but that's what makes it brilliant!
"Weymouth is proudly known as the fancy dress capital of the UK, so whether you're from here or just visiting, there's something for everyone to enjoy."
Registration is at 12:00 GMT at Weymouth Pavilion.
Participants will receive a wristband and be officially counted, with a photo opportunity at 13:00.
