A man suffered multiple stab wounds in an attack in a town centre in the early hours of the morning.

Lancashire Police officers were called to Accrington town centre at about 04:00 BST on Saturday by paramedics who were treating a man who had been attacked.

The force said the victim, said to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

Three people, aged 18, 20 and 23, have been arrested, a spokesman added.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We're particularly interested in dashcam and CCTV footage from anyone who we have not already spoken to, in the Eagle Street, Ormerod Street and Scaitcliffe Street areas, where we believe the assault took place.

"We'd also like to speak to any taxi drivers who we know from our enquiries may have been going about their business at this time."
