A man who attempted to rape a woman he followed from a fast food restaurant in Derby has been jailed.
Derbyshire Police said Ivan Godla saw the woman at a McDonald's branch in Osmaston Park Road on 19 November last year, then, after trying to speak to her and exposing himself, he pushed her to the ground.
The 24-year-old, of Leacroft Road in Derby, admitted attempted rape on the first day of a trial, having already pleaded guilty to sexual assault and exposure.
He was jailed for eight years and one month at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday.
"This was a calculated and predatory attack on [a] young woman," the force said.
"Thankfully, this kind of stranger attack is rare, but we are committed to weeding out those who commit any acts of sexual violence and will do everything we can to ensure that justice is served against perpetrators."
