A man in his 70s was injured after being pulled off his mobility scooter during an attempted robbery in Lincoln, police said.

The incident happened outside a convenience store on Baggholme Road, at about 19:10 BST on Tuesday.

A man approached the victim and pulled him from his chair causing injuries to his face and body before leaving the scene, Lincolnshire Police said.

Officers have appealed for help to find the suspect who is described as being of a skinny build and wearing a red bucket hat, black joggers and a dark jacket.

A force spokesperson said: "We are gathering information including investigating any CCTV footage which might be available, and speaking with local businesses, but we know that our community might be able to help us further.

"We are particularly keen to view any footage which might have captured any interaction between the victim and anyone else."
