A blaze at a restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent on Tuesday has been deemed accidental by fire investigators.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to a fire at Rotana on Scotia Road in Burslem just after 15:00 GMT.

At its height, seven crews tackled the blaze which was extinguished by 17:45.

The fire service said nobody was injured in the incident.

A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the fire was started accidentally after it spread from an extension building.

“Boarding up for the building has been arranged.”
