Roads are closed and public transport services have been cancelled after a tram and a car collided in Manchester city centre.

No services are operating between St Peter's Square and Piccadilly Gardens following the crash near Manchester Art Gallery.

Greater Manchester Police said they were trying to establish the circumstances behind the collision in Mosley Street.

They advised commuters there could be "a lengthy closure of surrounding streets near to St Peter's Square".
