East to west bus route to be trialled in Jersey

The new route will link Les Quennevais in St Brelade to northern parishes without going through St Helier

A new bus service travelling between the east and west of Jersey is to be trialled.

The new LibertyBus route, which will be piloted from May, will link Les Quennevais in St Brelade to northern parishes without going through St Helier.

Infrastructure Minister Constable Andy Jehan said the plan came ahead of the bus company's new contract that is due to begin on 6 April.

He said the pilot would run until the end of the year after which a review would be carried out.
