Highway work costing £345,000 to start next week

Drivers are being warned about road and lane closures, ahead of a £345,000 highway improvement scheme in Staffordshire starting on Monday.
Work will include reconstruction and resurfacing of the A5127 Trent Valley Road in Lichfield during the project, which is expected to take three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The scheme, carried out by Staffordshire County Council, is part of a wider £30m investment in the county's roads over the next two years.
The authority said it would like to thank people in advance for their patience while "this vital work" took place.
Commitments include the reconstruction and resurfacing of the road from St Michaels Court to 51 Trent Valley Road and at either side of the junctions of Wissage Road.
There will be repairs to kerbing, ironwork and footpaths as required.
Allow extra journey time
To ensure work can be carried out safely and to minimise disruption, a combination of temporary traffic lights, road and lane closures and night-time working would be in operation, the council said.
From 25-28 March, initial work will be carried out during off-peak hours, 09:30-15:00 GMT, where either side of the junction of Wissage Road will be closed.
Overnight closures from 19:30-06:00 BST from 2-5 April and 8-12 April will also be in place for resurfacing.
A signed diversion route will be in operation while the road is closed, but access for residents and businesses is to be maintained where possible.
People travelling in the area should allow extra time for their journeys.
The council said once completed, it was sure drivers would notice "a real difference in their journeys".
