Police investigating incidents where a man was shot and another stabbed have made two further arrests.
The gunshot victim was admitted to Royal Oldham Hospital at about 20:30 BST on Wednesday with injuries to his arms, Greater Manchester Police said.
CCTV led police to Busk Road, also in the town, where they found a second man with stab wounds.
On Friday, two women aged 23 and 25, were arrested for assisting an offender before being bailed.
'Targeted attack'
Two men, aged 28 and 22, were previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in hospital.
Det Insp Alex Wilkinson said: "We are appealing to the public for further information and details from this week to help us formulate what exactly happened in the moments leading up to two people becoming seriously injured.
"I understand the concern this will have raised around the areas but want to provide reassurance we are conducting regular patrols, searching through hours of CCTV and making progress to make sure we find all those responsible and will be relentless until we do so.
"Our work will continue this weekend and next week but recent intelligence suggests it was a targeted attack."
