Jazz festival returns to Lincoln Cathedral
- Published
Young people are to take part in a samba-style parade in the grounds of Lincoln Cathedral.
The parade, at noon on Saturday, forms part of the Lincoln Jazz Festival, which begins later.
On Saturday, London-based performance group Kinetika Bloco will lead young people around the cathedral grounds, with dancers, percussion and brass instruments.
Organisers said the "colourful" parade will feature students from Caistor Yarborough Academy and Welton-based William Farr C of E Comprehensive School.
They said the James Taylor Quartet will be headlining, showcasing its "blend of funky, Hammond organ-driven jazz and soul".
Dennis Rollins MBE, the festival's artistic director, said the weekend "offers so much for lovers of great live music, not just jazz enthusiasts.”
