Family tribute to 28-year-old who died in crash

The family of a man who died in a single-car crash in north Dorset have described him as "the most loving and kind-hearted man".

The incident, involving a grey BMW, happened shortly before 09:30 BST on the A357 Cook's Lane, near Stalbridge, on Tuesday.

The driver, 28-year-old Edward Pass, known as Ed and from the local area, died at the scene.

Dorset Police has appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

In a statement Mr Pass's family said: "Loving son of Caroline and David, brother to Sam and Jim, partner to Hayley, brother-in-law to Charlie and Lottie, adored uncle and loved grandson.

"Ed was the most loving and kind-hearted man who would do anything for anyone.

"Rest in peace. All our love forever. Never forgotten."

Sgt Dave Cotterill, from the roads policing team, said: "Our thoughts remain with Ed's family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.

"We are continuing to investigate the collision and would ask anyone with information who has not already spoken to police to please get in touch."
