Commuters have faced rush hour disruption across a region where with rail services have been suspended.

Merseyrail said no trains are operating on the Wirral Line due to signalling issues between Green Lane and Hooton.

The company posted on its website that this was due to cable damage in the Green Lane area.

Rail replacement buses are operating between these stations, with Arriva and Stagecoach Wirral bus services accepting Merseyrail tickets.
