Man accused of assault and suffocation of woman

A 20-year-old man has been charged with assault and suffocation after a young woman was attacked in Nottingham.
The victim was walking in Lenton Road, near the entrance to Nottingham Castle, shortly after 01:00 GMT on Thursday, Nottinghamshire Police said.
She was pushed to the floor and assaulted by a man who had approached her, the force added.
Police charged the 20-year-old with assault, causing actual bodily harm, and intentional suffocation, and said he was due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.
