Reece Barnes has been charged with the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man

A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Rotherham which took place exactly a year ago.

Emergency services attended Ferham Street on 11 September 2024 after a 20-year-old man was shot, sustaining serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Reece Barnes, of Claremont Street, Kimberworth, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court earlier charged with attempted murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life, making threats to kill, assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Mr Barnes, 31, was remanded into custody ahead of his appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on 9 October.
