Serious crash on A38 causes long delays

National Highways urged drivers to avoid the route if possible

Drivers faced long delays following a serious crash on the A38 in Derbyshire.
Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway between the B6179 near Coxbench and the A61 near Little Eaton shortly before 15:00 BST on Monday.
National Highways said traffic was held for a period but the road had now reopened.
No further information about the crash has been shared by police.
