Murder charge after death of woman, 19

A man has been charged with murder after a 19-year-old woman died on a street in Oldbury.

Lily Whitehouse was found with serious injuries on Park Street at around 21:50 GMT on Wednesday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mohammed Azim, 41, has been charged with her murder and earlier appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the city's crown court in Monday.

West Midlands Police said Ms Whitehouse's family was being supported by specialist officers as the investigation continues.
