A road has been closed after a sinkhole appeared outside a primary school.

The road closure is in place on Bryn Llidiard, Bridgend, close to Litchard Primary School.

The school remains open but some congestion and delays are expected, the school said.

"Parents and carers have been asked to walk pupils to and from school as much as possible for the immediate future," it said.

Alexa Ali, who lives nearby, said the hole appeared on Monday afternoon, with the road collapsing after a car drove past.

"With the school, with the congestion that we get around here, it's making things worse so hopefully it does get sorted soon," she said.

The council said more information would be released once it was available.
