Work will start this autumn on upgrading lights and resurfacing a cycle and pedestrian route in a city using £675,000.

Octavius Infrastructure Ltd was appointed on Friday to carry out the work on Great Western Way, Hereford, by Herefordshire Council.

The scheme will also see crossing points on the route upgraded with the aim of making it safer and more user-friendly.

Work should be finished by the spring, a spokesperson for the authority added.
