The jury in the trial of two brothers accused of causing a fatal crash has been discharged for legal reasons.

Rhys Jenkins, of Deuddwr, Powys, was killed on the A483 near Welshpool on 16 November 2024, and his son Ioan was seriously injured when their car was hit head-on by a BMW X3 driven by Abubakr Ben Yusaf.

Abubakr and his brother Umar both denied causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving, while Abubakr also denied causing death whilst driving uninsured.

On Wednesday, at Mold Crown Court, it was announced a retrial will be held on 1 June 2026.
