A black-cab driver has told police his vehicle was shot at in central London, striking a window.

The Metropolitan Police said it was called at 10:10 BST to a report of a firearms discharge on Dean Street in Soho.

"The driver of a London black taxi reported he was stationary in traffic when a shot was fired towards his vehicle, striking the window," the statement said.

The Met added no-one was injured, but road closures remained in place. Dean Street, which is just off Oxford Street, is in one of London's busiest tourist districts.
