Man hurt after gun fired in 'targeted incident'

A man has been treated for leg injuries after he was shot.

Thames Valley Police said a gun was fired at about 23:30 BST on Wednesday in Denmead, on the Two Mile Ash estate, Milton Keynes.

The man in his 20s was treated in hospital but was later discharged.

Det Insp Graeme Williams said: "We believe this to be a targeted incident, with no threat to the wider public.

"I understand that this may be alarming but, fortunately, these incidents are extremely rare."

Residents have been told the area will see an increased police presence over the coming days.
