Work is continuing to repair a large water pipe which burst on an East Sussex road.

About 900 properties affected have all had their water supplies restored, according to Southern Water.

The 7m (23ft) long and 3m (10ft) deep section of pipe burst just off the A27 at Falmer on Saturday evening.

Southern Water has apologised and said the repairs may cause traffic disruption.

A spokesman for Southern Water said on Monday morning: "We've kept taps running and repairs may cause disruption to motorists using the slip road beside The Keep, but the A270 can still be accessed from the overpass.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience caused."

The water supply issues in Falmer come a week after a 10-day outage for about 4,900 Southern Water customers in Rye, Winchelsea and Camber.
