A man has sustained life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said he was found on High Street, Erdington, by officers who were called to reports of disorder at about 17:00 on Thursday.

Confirming the seriousness of his wounds, the force added he received treatment and was taken to hospital.

Officers later arrested a man on suspicion of wounding and possession of a bladed article.
