An investigation has been launched after an alleged armed robbery at a Lincolnshire Post Office.

A person wearing a balaclava and thought to be carrying a knife took a quantity of cash from the Market Place branch in Horncastle earlier, police said.

Lincolnshire Police said it received a call just before 14:20 BST.

The person is thought to have left the area on a push bike in the direction of Mill Lane.

Officers said the suspect is reported to have been wearing blue jogging bottoms and black trainers.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the force.
