Appeal after alleged armed robbery at Post Office

A person carrying a knife is believed to have taken a quantity of cash from the Horncastle Post Office

An investigation has been launched after an alleged armed robbery at a Lincolnshire Post Office.

A person wearing a balaclava and thought to be carrying a knife took a quantity of cash from the Market Place branch in Horncastle earlier, police said.

Lincolnshire Police said it received a call just before 14:20 BST.

The person is thought to have left the area on a push bike in the direction of Mill Lane.

Officers said the suspect is reported to have been wearing blue jogging bottoms and black trainers.
