Teenagers arrested after car park stabbing

Officers were called to Rookery Medical Centre, Newmarket, on Wednesday

Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was taken to hospital with stab wounds following a car park attack.

Suffolk Police was called at 17:53 BST on Wednesday to Rookery Medical Centre in Newmarket.

It is believed the victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by four males.

A 19-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and a 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm.

Both teenagers were taken to Bury St Edmunds police investigation centre for questioning on Thursday.

The 19-year-old remains in custody while the 14-year-old was released on bail and told to report back to police on 2 July.

A 37-year-old woman was previously arrested in Haverhill on Wednesday and was also bailed to return to police on 2 July.

Police described it as a "contained incident" involving people who knew each other.

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
