The family of a man who died when his moped crashed has paid tribute and said he was a "good-hearted kid... who would help anyone".

Devon and Cornwall Police said Corey Searle, 22, from Newquay, died in the crash involving a 110cc moped and a single decker bus on the A3059 near Newquay on Sunday at about 00:25 BST.

The force said Mr Searle was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 33-year old driver of the bus was uninjured.

In its tribute, the family of Mr Searle said: "He was funny and enthusiastic about anything and everything. He was a good-hearted kid, who was generous with his time and would help anyone."

It said he was a "son, nephew, brother and best friend" who loved cooking and had completed a chef apprenticeship.

"He would often be found cooking and baking at home," his family added.

They said: "He also spent time locally fishing for mackerel and would come home laden with his catch ready for us to cook. Corey loved music, gaming and any motorsport, especially Formula 1.

"This summer Corey had been working for Dominos which he really enjoyed. He met many people through this.

"Corey is, and will continue to be, so missed by his family and everybody that knew him and loved him."
