A man who filmed the scene of a fatal crash has been fined and given points on his driving licence.
Kevin Doherty died after his motorcycle was involved in a crash with a car and van on the A14 westbound carriageway at Sproughton, near Ipswich, in June.
Footage of the crash was shared on social media and Arturas Motuzis, 38, of Belstead Avenue, Ipswich, was charged with sending an offensive/indecent/obscene message/matter by public communication network as well as using a mobile phone while driving.
He was fined £1,345 and received six points on his driving licence at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Motuzis pleaded guilty to both offences.
'Abide by law'
PC Thomas Ives from Suffolk Police said Motuzis's actions were "unspeakable".
"Not only is using a mobile phone whilst driving an offence, but it is also utterly disrespectful to anyone involved in the sensitive and traumatic incident," he said.
"We ask that people abide by the law, which is there to protect them, and refrain from using their phones whilst behind the wheel of their vehicle."
Mr Doherty was 44 and from Somersham.
His family previously described him as a "loving" father, son, brother and uncle.
"His passing has left a void in our family and our hearts that can never be filled," they said in a statement.
"He will be greatly missed by all that knew him."
