Strong winds have led to disruption for ferry passengers

Passengers booked to travel on ferry services between the Isle of Man and the north west of England are facing disruption due to strong winds.

The morning sailing from Douglas to Heysham and its afternoon return to Heysham have been cancelled.

The evening sailing of the flagship vessel Manxman to the Lancashire port has also been brought forward by almost three hours to 17:00 BST.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said the 15:00 BST sailing by the fast craft Manannan to Liverpool had also been scrapped.

Its planned Douglas-bound return journey had also been cancelled as a result, the government-owned ferry operator said.
