Ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and the north-west of England are back on schedule after weather disruption on Sunday.

Morning sailings to Liverpool and Heysham departed as scheduled at 07:30 and 08:30 BST respectively.

Gales over the Irish Sea saw Sunday's afternoon and evening Isle of Man Steam Packet Company sailings of the Manxman to Heysham Port scrapped.

As a result of the weekend's deteriorating conditions, the morning's crossing of the fast craft Manannan and its return were pulled forward by two hours, but the afternoon sailings were cancelled.

Coach travel was provided from Liverpool to Heysham for foot passengers who had transferred to the overnight return crossing of the Manxman.

The latest weather disruption followed a series of delays and cancellations caused by technical issues with the flagship vessel and damage to firefighting equipment on the fast craft.
